Rosenthal - Platt & Young - Vase (2) - äußerst selten - Porzellan - Postmoderne Kunstgestaltung

Dear Bidders, thank you for your interest in my offer. These sculptural porcelain vases are a striking example of postmodern art design with strong Memphis-style influences. Their expressive, anthropomorphic forms transform the traditional vase into a figurative object, blurring the line between functional design and collectible art. The graphic hand-drawn faces, playful proportions and sculptural silhouette reflect the spirit of late 20th-century experimental design, inspired by the iconic Memphis movement of the 1980s and its revival in the 1990s. Rather than focusing on pure functionality, these pieces celebrate emotion, irony and visual storytelling. This type of design is highly sought after by collectors of postmodern, Memphis-inspired and contemporary art design objects. SOME GENERAL INFORMATIONS: Robin Platt studied at the London College of Furniture and, with Cairn Young, gained acclaim early in their careers. Cairn Young studied at the Central School of Art and Kingston University. Together they collaborated for Rosenthal throughout the 1990s. Platt & Young began working together in the early 1990s, creating experimental objects that blend sculptural freedom with industrial precision. For Rosenthal they designed pieces in the “Free Spirit” collection — characterized by organic, flowing forms and contemporary aesthetics. SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONS: *** If an item listed in the auction has a reserve price, rest assured that it is truly very reasonable for such a wonderful piece *** * Made in Germany by Rosenthal * Designed by duo Platt & Young * Material : glossy porcelain * Measurements: approx. 18x15x8,5 cm * Please watch carefully all the pictures, they are also a part of description ( each one can be enlarged ) * I would like to point out that the items I am selling are several decades old and therefore show general signs of use and age, such as minor scratches, scuffs, discoloration, dust, patina, chips, dents etc. - Any major damage -s is / are ALWAYS shown in the photos - * Please remember about Catawiki’s rules and make a payment maximally within 3 days after auction end The vases will be properly prepared for the shipping ( mainly recycled materials ) and sent insured ( up to 500€ ). According to EU law for courier companies, in any case of damage to an international shipment, the first step in obtaining compensation is for the RECIPIENT to report the damage to their local supplier within 7 days of receiving the shipment. In addition, the following photos will be required: the damage to the item, the outside of the box with the shipping label, and the inside of the box including the materials used to protect the shipment.
