Unknown - Puppe Japanese doll (Nihon Ningyō / 日本人形) - 1950-1960 - Japan

This is a traditional Japanese doll (Nihon Ningyō / 日本人形) dating from the Showa era, made in a folk craft style. The doll was originally owned by the seller’s mother and has been stored in a private home. The figure is dressed in a colorful kimono with floral patterns and holds multiple red decorative elements, with a matching headpiece. The facial expression is delicately painted in a classical style typical of mid-20th-century Japanese dolls. The doll stands on its original base and measures approximately 48 cm in height including the base. The maker is unknown, and this is not a work by a famous artist, but it represents a fine example of Showa-period Japanese folk craftsmanship (Kōgei). As visible in the photos, there is discoloration and aging consistent with its age. Due to the fragile nature of glass, only the doll will be shipped, without any glass case. This item is recommended for collectors of Japanese dolls, folk art enthusiasts, or those interested in traditional Japanese culture. Method of Shipment FedEx or Japan Post NOTICE The lot will be carefully packaged and shipped by FedEx or Japan Post. Delivery usually takes 1–2 weeks. Heavy items may be shipped by sea, which may take 1 to 2 months to arrive. The shipping method may vary depending on the item price and size. Sometimes Customs or the delivery company in your country may contact you by phone or email for clearance. Please make sure you are available to respond. If not, the parcel may be returned to me, and reshipping will cost more than twice the original shipping fee. I appreciate your cooperation.
