Anemometer manufactured in the 1940s by the Jules Richard establishments. In its felted case, it is easily transportable, without risk of breakage. It allows you to measure the average wind speed. This anemometer consists of a fin tube attached to an axis. A system of endless screws transmits the movement of the fins to a dial indicating the number of meters traveled by the wind. The principle of operation is then this: The anemometer is placed in the direction of the wind, the fins begin to rotate. We engage the system with a pin. The seconds count then begins to scroll, and the wind dial as well. We leave it like this for 20, 30, 40 seconds, then we disengage the system to freeze the dials and their values. It then remains to resume a simple calculation with the number of seconds obtained and the distance displayed to obtain the average wind speed in m/s, or km/h.
