Description
The second image is a styled photograph to convey the feel of traditional Japanese tea utensils, while the following photos are of the actual items taken in natural light.
A traditional Mashiko ware (益子焼) tea set, characterized by its warm persimmon glaze (kaki-yu) combined with distinctive turquoise blue accents, a color pairing often associated with classic Mashiko pottery.
Mashiko ware is known for its emphasis on natural clay textures, functional forms, and glazes that develop rich depth through kiln firing.
This set reflects those traditions through its earthy reddish-brown body, flowing turquoise glaze details, and hand-thrown shapes.
The set includes:
1 teapot
5 tea cups
All pieces are unused and preserved in their original box, though they have been stored for a long period.
Minor variations in glaze flow, color tone, and form are inherent to traditional hand-crafted ceramics and are considered part of their character.
This set is suitable both for practical tea use and as a decorative or collectible example of Japanese folk ceramics.
