Terracotta ushabti figurine Culture Ancient Egypt Dating Late Period to early Ptolemaic Period, circa 6th–3rd century BC Description Fragmentary terracotta ushabti figurine representing a mummiform human figure, originally standing frontally with arms crossed over the chest. The lower part of the figure is missing, resulting in the loss of the base and feet. The modelling is schematic, with simplified facial features and compact proportions, consistent with modest funerary productions intended for private burials. The material and execution are characteristic of Late Period and early Ptolemaic terracotta ushabtis, produced as more accessible alternatives to faience examples. Surface encrustations and mineral deposits indicate prolonged burial. Condition Fragment. Loss of the lower section. Surface wear, erosion and deposits consistent with age. No restorations.
