​A high-quality piece of Edwardian souvenir ware, made between 1894 and 1906 by Wiltshaw & Robinson (Carlton Ware). This is a match holder and striker featuring the crest of Jesus College, Cambridge. ​ Hand-Painted Detail: Features a beautifully hand-painted coat of arms (three cockerels and a bishop’s mitre). The colors remain remarkably crisp. Markings: The base is marked with the "CRISP & Co. CAMBRIDGE" retailer stamp and the original "Swallow and Crown" Carlton Ware backstamp. ​Condition: Good antique condition. There is a chip to the inner rim and light surface wear/pitting consistent with 120+ years of age.
