Langendorf (Omega Group / SSIH) – Antique Marriage Watch – "Skeleton" Back – Men – 1910–1919 Rare 19''' Langendorf (Lanco) Pocket Watch Movement – 10 Rubies – Three-Finger Bridge Lot Description: A fine example of Swiss horological history from the Langendorf Watch Company (Lanco). This large 19-ligne movement (approx. 43 mm) dates back to the early 20th century (c. 1910). It represents the era of transition when high-quality calibers moved from key-winding to the more advanced "Remontoir" (keyless) system. Technical Specifications: Brand: Langendorf / Lanco (Switzerland) Caliber: 19 lignes (approx. 43 mm diameter) Jewels: 10 Rubies. This is a superior and rarer configuration compared to the standard 7-jewel movements, offering increased durability for the gear train pivots. Escapement: Swiss Lever. Winding: Remontoir (Keyless works) – stem-wind and stem-set. Architecture: Highly desirable "three-finger bridge" layout, prized by collectors for its aesthetic symmetry and traditional Swiss construction. Finish: Original frosted gilt plates in excellent preservation with "Swiss Made" clearly engraved. Mechanical: The balance wheel oscillates freely and the gear train appears intact. The Remontoir (winding/setting) system functions. Historical Note: Langendorf was a powerhouse of Swiss precision. This specific 10-ruby variant is a robust and reliable caliber, showcasing the engineering excellence that eventually led Lanco to become one of the most successful Swiss brands of the mid-20th century. Type: Mechanical manual winding. Condition: Excellent technical and aesthetic state. The movement has been fully disassembled, cleaned, and oiled by a master watchmaker. It runs strong and keeps accurate time. The gilding of the movement is in excellent condition. The hands are gilded (possibly solid gold). Finishing: Beautifully preserved original finishing, reflecting the high craftsmanship of early 20th-century Switzerland. Case (Custom Marriage): Material: New high-grade stainless steel case, specifically designed and custom-fitted for this particular movement. The winding crown is handcrafted using a metal casting method Diameter: Impressive 47 mm (excluding the crown). Case Back: Exhibition (skeleton) back with mineral glass, offering a captivating view of the 110-year-old historic movement in motion. Presence: A massive, robust case that provides a modern, "oversized" look while housing a classic heart. Strap: Condition: Brand new. Size: Fits wrists up to 23–24 cm (ideal for large wrists). Additional Notes: This timepiece is the perfect bridge between antique collecting and modern wearability. It is a unique piece of "wearable history" that stands out due to its size, its open mechanical display, and its direct connection to the Omega-SSIH heritage. Water Resistance: Not recommended (as is standard for antique movements). Shipping: Fast, insured shipping with professional packaging.
