Domäne Serrig is a historic wine estate in the Saar region, just south of Trier, in the southwestern Mosel valley. The estate was established by the Kaiser in 1904 and is now run by well-known German Riesling producer, Markus Molitor. The estate vineyard is the 25-hectare (62-acre) Vogelsang Grosse Lange site, covering a steep, south-facing slope overlooking the Serrig Stream (Serriger Bach) as it flows west to join the Mosel. Currently wines are produced from the site: the top Grosse Lage Vogelsang label and the Domäne Serrig Vogelsang Kabinett. Both are produced from 100-percent Riesling, harvested by hand. The dry Grosse Lage wines are aged in large-format oak vats with additional aging in bottle prior to release. The off-dry kabinett is aged in stainless steel and also aged in bottle for two years before release. Prior to Molitor's acquisition, the estate – both winery and vineyard – was run by the state. It was sold off in the late 1980s and acquired by Molitor in 2016.
