Seidenkimono – Furisode Fließende Goldmuster und leuchtende Blumen auf elegantem violettem Grund, - Seide - Japan - 20. Jahrhundert

Silk Kimono – Furisode Flowing gold patterns and vivid flowers on an elegant purple ground, a color symbolizing nobility Ideal for display ◎ This item will be shipped from Japan. This furisode kimono is richly decorated overall in vibrant purple and gold. In Japanese culture, purple has long been regarded as a color symbolizing nobility, dignity, and mysticism. A furisode is characterized by its very long sleeves and is considered the most formal kimono worn by young unmarried women. Within the gold decorative patterns, you can find motifs of Goshoguruma (imperial ox-drawn carriages). Goshoguruma were used by aristocrats during the Heian period (794–1185) and are traditional symbols of elegance, nobility, wealth, and prosperity. Among all types of kimono, furisode are the most ornate and visually striking, which is why they are especially appreciated in Western countries as interior display pieces. As can be seen from the seams of the fabric, the patterns are carefully hand-stitched so that the designs align seamlessly across the garment. I got this kimono from a kimono shop in Chiba Prefecture. Displaying this gorgeous furisode in a room will bring a refined Japanese atmosphere and a sense of oriental elegance and splendor to the space. 【Main Types of Kimono】 Uchikake – Bridal kimono worn at weddings Furisode – Formal kimono for unmarried women, often with elaborate designs Hōmongi – Semi-formal kimono with continuous patterns flowing from the shoulders to the hem Tomesode – Semi-formal kimono with designs only along the lower hem Yukata – Lightweight, breathable summer kimono 【Size】 Height: approx. 160 cm Width: approx. 120 cm Weight: 1,400 g 【Important Information Before Bidding】 This item will be shipped from Japan. The item price and shipping cost do not include import duties, VAT, or Catawiki fees. Buyers outside Japan are kindly requested to check the import regulations of their country before bidding, or refer to Catawiki’s Help Center: “Customs & fees.” 【Condition】 The kimono is in good condition; however, there may be minor or signs of wear. Please bid with this in mind.
