A pair of big ovel Chinese blue and white porcelain 'Double peacock' plates (platters). Qing dynasty (大清), early Qianlong period (1735-1796, 乾隆), 18th c. Rare as a pair and in such a good condition! Decorated to the interior with an ovel medallion depicting the pair of peacocks amidst flowering plants and rocks, surrounded by a band of spear-heads. Border extensively decorated with butterflies, Ruyi heads, floral and geometrical patterns. Daylight pictures included. Provenance: private collection, Stockholm, Sweden. Dimensions: width - 33,5 / 33,8 cm; depth - 24,5 /24,6 cm; height - 2,7 / 2,9 cm. Weight – 841 / 913 g. Conditions report: one platter with two tiny chips to the edge only. Other plate with no damages, except two very small chips (frits) to the edge. Both with some use-related scratches to the glaze. Minor firing faults. Strong white light tested.
