Montblanc introduced the “Pix” mechanism (repeater) on their pencils in 1934. It was a huge success and a very sturdy system that is still working flawlessly after more than 80 years. Montblanc Pix 172k pencil made in the 1950's, with a solid brass mechanism and superb manufacturing quality. These pencil are still hard to match by quality and performance, and are still the desired choice by many artists and engineers. This pencil is nearly 65 yeas old and still performing like the day it was made. The pencil is made out of celluloid, very thick body walls making the pencil very hard to dent, ding or damage. Very precise and smooth repeater mechanism operation. The pen features the standard at the time, 1.18mm lead refills, still widely available today. Such thick refills can be deployed 3-5mm in front of the tip for a better viewing space and more precision drawing without breaking the lead. Except for the missing part at the bottom and the ring with the name Pix etc. on it's a little loose, the pencil is in Near Mint Condition, no scratches or cracks, no signs of use, clear imprints with shiny barrell. Great timeless design, superb ergonomics with great feel and grip in the hand. The pencil will be packed carefully and send by registered mail.
