2024 Giocondina's Malbec - Mendoza IGT - 2 Flasche (0,75 l)

Giocondina's Malbec comes from a small plot with soil predominantly made of limestone, which gives the wine freshness, a lot of fruit and minerality: in 2024 only 500 bottles were produced. FINCA LA SIMO is located in Paraje Altamira, south of the Uco valley in Mendoza, Argentina, and produces Malbec exclusively. Its philosophy is focused on 'minimal intervention', both in the vineyard and in the cellar, so as to let the terroir express itself. As a result, systemic chemicals are banned from our vineyard, as well as any plastic-derived material. The harvest is done manually using 16 kg crates, which are immediately transported to the bodega San Carlos Sud, in La Consulta, Mendoza, where the wine is made and bottled. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts and the wine goes through a carbonic pre-maceration, then it rests 6 months in second-use French oak barriques, in order to extract nuanced aromas and flavors, without allowing the wood to take over. Finally, another 6 months in the bottle and the wine is ready to drink (or keep for at least 10 years). Bottles are both in excellent conditions, filled to the neck, with intact wax capsule and untouched embossed gold foil labels. Giocondina's Malbec is still unknow to the public, so it doesn't have any reviews or scores from critics yet. It will be available worldwide in 2026: these are the first botles arround, be the first to taste a new wine from one of the most renowned terroirs in the world. The bottles will be shipped via insured mail, safely packed in cardboard boxes, each protected by inflatable bags.
