These sculptural porcelain vases were produced by Hutschenreuther, one of the most renowned Bavarian porcelain manufacturers. They belong to the company’s modernist design period from the 1960s–1970s, when Hutschenreuther introduced a series of organic, folded and pleated forms inspired by nature and contemporary sculpture. The star-shaped, softly undulating rims and sharply modelled vertical folds are typical of this era. The vases of this type reflect the studio-style experimentation that Hutschenreuther developed alongside more traditional porcelain lines. Their minimalist white glaze emphasises the play of light on the sharply sculpted surface, making them decorative objects even without flowers.
