Eine feine und seltene chinesische 'Dragon'-Stickerei – OHNE RESERVE - Seide, Gold- und Silberfaden, vergoldetes Holz, Glas - China - Qing-Dynastie (大清)
A Chinese metallic 'Ming Dragon' framed and glassed embroidery. China, Qing dynasty, most probably late 18th to early 19th century. Not common example preserved in the excellent condition.
The rectangular panel finely embroidered with a Ming style five-clawed dragon in golden thread flying amongst auspicious flames and clouds, above the sea-waves. The dragon depicted with long hornes, golden body, mouth wide opened showing ferocious fangs. Narrow border with flowers on a blue ground followed by a wide border with stripes of red and silver thread.
Mounted on the wood in the gilt frame.
