Omega - Nane Seamaster TCDD Special Edition - Herren - 1970-1979

Nane Omega Seamaster TCDD Special Edition Automatic – Caliber 1020 This watch was specially commissioned by TCDD (Turkish State Railways) from Omega for senior-level employees. In that era, very few people wore wristwatches. TCDD initially considered issuing wrist watches to train dispatchers and station chiefs to ensure trains departed on time. However, these Omega wristwatches bearing the “TCDD emblem” on the dial were first ordered from major Swiss watch manufacturers such as Omega. At the time, across villages and towns throughout Anatolia, train dispatchers would repeatedly take their wrist watches from their chains to check the time before authorizing departures. As a result, Omega wristwatches with the TCDD emblem came to be regarded as the most accurate and reliable timekeepers. The watch offered in this listing came to us from the wife of a TCDD station chief. After her husband passed away, the watch was carefully kept for many years and has only recently come to light. According to her, the original owner wore the watch only a few times, and it has been preserved with its original brilliance intact. It is a very well-preserved, highly collectible timepiece in excellent condition. In NOS condition, worn only once or twice, and completely original down to the crystal. Offered for sale is an original Omega Seamaster Automatic from the 1970s, powered by the reliable Caliber 1020. This version stands out with the red TCDD (Turkish State Railways) logo on the dial, a rare and highly collectible detail. The watch is in an exceptional, near-new / unused condition for its age. The silver Day-Date dial is clean and crisp. The original stainless steel case and the iconic Seamaster hippocampus engraving on the case back are extremely well preserved. The Omega Caliber 1020 automatic movement runs smoothly and reliably, with a flawless winding function. The crown and crystal are original and signed with the Omega logo, and the stainless steel bracelet with TCDD-stamped clasp is also original.
