Bare Chested Woman - Tafelaufsatz - Versilbert

A wonderful 19th-century Neo-Classical lamp base made in silver-plated metal, with a rich patina that highlights all the beautiful details. This sculptural piece features a female figure standing in a classical pose, wearing a wet drapery dress that clings to her body, with her breasts exposed in a natural and elegant way. The figure has beautifully made facial features with magnificent attention to detail and a calm, classical expression. She holds a gadrooned bowl on her head, originally intended for a lampshade and fittings. Today, it works perfectly as a unique centerpiece, a lamp restoration project, or simply as a stunning antique sculptural object. The base is big, formed as a wide flared pedestal decorated with high-relief cherubs and intricate floral swags. In areas where the silver plating has worn, the warm undertone of brass or copper is visible, adding to the authentic antique character. The top lamp fitting was previously mounted using glue. If you plan to refit the lamp, some restoration work will be needed. Noted for transparency. A wonderful sculptural piece made circa 1880–1900, in a lovely Neo-Classical / Renaissance Revival design. Condition: Good antique condition with light surface wear to the silver plating. No serious damage. Old glue residue is present at the top fitting, as described. Overall a strong, decorative, and very attractive antique piece. Measurements: Height: 39 cm Base diameter: 17.5 cm Top diameter: 11 cm Net weight: 1,101 g Please take a good look at the photos, which are an integral part of the description. This lot will be carefully packed so it will get to its new owner exactly as it should.
