Spazierstock - .925 Silber - Schwarzwald-Stil
Decorative early 20th-century walking stick featuring a finely hand-carved stag (deer) head handle made of natural bone, executed in traditional Black Forest / Alpine folk art style, dating to circa 1910–1920.
The bone handle shows realistic modelling of the animal’s head and antlers, with fitted glass eyes, a characteristic detail associated with higher-quality Alpine carvings. The surface displays natural ageing, subtle colour variation and patina consistent with genuine antique bone.
The handle is mounted on a dark hardwood shaft with a solid silver collar bearing London assay marks, confirming British silver fittings tested at the London Assay Office.
A highly decorative and collectible walking stick combining Alpine folk carving with British silver craftsmanship. Animal-headed walking sticks were fashionable gentleman’s accessories and popular hunting souvenirs in Alpine regions, often imported and mounted by British silversmiths.
Good antique condition consistent with age and use. Natural surface wear and patina to the bone handle.
Minor wear and age marks to the wooden shaft. Silver collar shows surface wear and light scratches, with clear hallmarks. Handle appears structurally stable and firmly attached. The original ferrule is no longer present. Please refer to the photos for full condition details.
