Seltener Teller aus chinesischem Exportporzellan, Famille Rose, 18. Jahrhundert, Qianlong-Periode - China - Qianlong (1736-1795)

FINE 18TH CENTURY CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN FAMILLE ROSE PLATE, QIANLONG PERIOD. Scholar’s Objects and Floral Decoration with Gilt and Iron-Red Borders This elegant Chinese export porcelain plate dates to the Qianlong period, circa 1750, a time widely regarded as the pinnacle of artistic refinement and technical excellence in Qing dynasty porcelain. The central medallion is finely painted in famille rose enamels with an attractive scholarly still-life composition. At its heart stands a slender blue vase holding flowering branches, accompanied by scholar’s objects including a woven basket with plants, precious items, and scattered blossoms. The scene is delicately balanced and rendered with confident, precise brushwork, combining soft pastel tones with brighter accents in iron-red, green, yellow, and aubergine pink. Encircling the central scene is a refined iron-red and gilt stylised border, framing the composition with elegance and restraint. The wide rim is further embellished with scattered floral sprays and blossoms, painted in harmonious colours and arranged asymmetrically, a hallmark of mid-18th century Chinese export porcelain made for the European market. The porcelain body is fine and well-potted, covered with a smooth, softly lustrous glaze that enhances the clarity and vibrancy of the enamels. Historical Context: Produced during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1736–1795), this plate reflects the sophisticated taste of the period, blending Chinese literati symbolism with decorative elements appreciated by Western patrons. Artistic and Technical Qualities: – Fine porcelain body with even potting – Well-preserved famille rose enamels of classic Qianlong palette – Detailed scholar’s objects motif, symbolising refinement and learning – Subtle use of iron-red and restrained gilding Condition: Excellent condition. Only minor fleabites to the rim, consistent with age and use. No cracks, hairlines, or restorations. The enamels and gilding remain particularly fresh. Measurements: Diameter: approximately 23,3 cm Why This Plate Is Special: This plate stands out for its elegant scholar’s subject, fine enamel work, and excellent state of preservation. It represents a highly decorative yet historically meaningful example of Qianlong export porcelain, suitable for discerning collectors of Qing dynasty ceramics, museum-quality displays, or refined interior settings. A beautiful and well-preserved survivor from the height of the Qianlong era, combining artistry, symbolism, and enduring appeal. Professional custom packaging, shipped worldwide via UPS with full insurance and tracking.
