Here for sale are three exceptionally rare and unique Pre-Columbian fired clay ocarina whistles that are most likely Aztec. One whistle is appears to depict and Aztec eagle warrior with the warriors face being enclosed within an eagle headdress and beneath, the warrior wears a form of breastplate and the whistle is mounted on a stand. Another whistle depicts what is possibly an ocelot? The mouth of the ocelot still retains original paint made from natural pigments and the whistle is mounted on a stand. Lastly, the third whistle appears to depict an anthropomorphic bird creature and this whistle still works and can be used as unlike the other 2, this whistle wasn't mounted on a stand. The dimensions of the 3 whistles are: 1) H: 9 CM, W: 3.5 CM, D: 4 CM. 2) H: 9 CM, W: 6 CM, D: 5 CM. 3) H: 8 CM, W: 8 CM, D: 5 CM. All 3 whistles are in various states of condition due to their age(please see photos further information). These whistles were purchased as a single lot in 2000 at TW Gaze auctions in Diss, Norfolk, England. These are a must for have for any collector of Pre-Columbian artifacts.
