The vase is decorated in famille rose enamels with an elegant lady in a garden scene, catching butterflies with a net. This subject is associated with refined leisure, springtime and poetic romance in Chinese art. The reverse side is decorated with a classical calligraphic poem, adding to the scholarly and literati character of the piece. Condition: very good overall condition. There is a very small glaze line in the neck, barely visible and extremely difficult to photograph. No restorations or chips observed.
