Carved from a single piece of hardwood, the larger figure stands upright with slightly flexed legs and a powerful, compact posture. The head is proportionally enlarged, with strongly carved facial features — deep-set eyes, pronounced nose, and a concentrated expression. Held firmly against the torso is a smaller human figure, rendered in simplified but clearly articulated form. In Dayak belief systems, such imagery often relates to ancestry, protection, and spiritual transmission. The larger figure may represent a forebear or protective spirit safeguarding a descendant. Alternatively, the composition may symbolize lineage continuity, the transfer of spiritual strength, or the guarding of vulnerable life. Figures of this type functioned as personal talismans or household ritual objects, intended to ward off malevolent forces and ensure wellbeing.
