Large stone mosaic panel with birds – ca. 19s0 – 63×63 cm This is an original hand-laid natural stone mosaic panel dating to circa 1910. The panel features a highly decorative symmetrical composition with stylised birds, floral rosette and scrolling foliage, typical of late 19th- and early 20th-century European decorative art. It is made from individually cut pieces of marble, limestone and slate, set into a solid stone backing. The bevelled black border is original and indicates it was designed as an architectural wall or fireplace panel for a high-end interior.
