Altchinesisch- Tang-Dynastie 618 -907, Keramik aus der Tang-Dynastie Tonfigur einer Frau der Tang-Dynastie (unglasiert / ursprünglich bemalt) - 21 cm

This is a Tang dynasty pottery female figurine (unglazed / originally painted), dating to the Early to High Tang period (early–mid 7th century). Figure characteristics: Slender body with elongated proportions, consistent with Tang dynasty female figurine aesthetics; Natural standing posture with a subtle S-shaped curve and stable center of gravity; Slightly reduced head size with an elongated neck; High coiffure with a trailing hair mass falling toward the back; Simplified facial features with a restrained and composed expression. The figurine was originally decorated with painted pigments, most of which have now been lost. It belongs to the painted pottery tradition derived from the Tang sancai system, rather than being a fully glazed example, and was produced using low-temperature mineral pigments. Observed details from the images: The surface shows long-term natural weathering, not artificial aging; The clay body is yellowish-brown, sand-tempered earthenware with a coarse texture; Hand-modeling and finishing marks are visible on the shoulders, torso, and skirt; The feet and base are naturally formed with well-proportioned structure; Overall wear and weathering are consistent throughout, indicating uniform age. Overall assessment: This figurine conforms to established Tang dynasty sculptural conventions and funerary practices and should be regarded as an authentic period object, rather than a modern reproduction Catawiki disclaimer: This object has been dated based on style by the seller . No further tests, such as, a TL test, analysis of metals(XRF-test), lapidary tests, analysis of pigments or radiography scans have been conducted to check the integrity of the piece.
