AD 618 - 907 This pottery figure stands upright with one arm akimbo and the other raised, wearing a fitted tunic with prominent shoulder armour and a large circular breastplate. The head displays exaggerated features, including bulging eyes, a flared nose, and an open mouth, topped by a tall, flame-like crest. The figure’s stance is firm, with both feet planted on an integral rectangular base, and the surface retains traces of original pigment. Such figures were typically placed in tombs to ward off evil spirits.
