Rare "PLEC" Folding Design Trolley by Bernal/Isern (1977)
Iconic Plec folding service trolley, designed in 1977 by the renowned Spanish industrial design duo Gemma Bernal & Ramón Isern. Produced during the height of the Spanish "Design Boom," the Plec is celebrated for its radical efficiency and geometric purity. It is a quintessential example of the functionalist aesthetic developed by Bernal/Isern for leading editors like Disform.
Design & Features:
Space-Saving Engineering: Featuring a signature "X" folding mechanism, the trolley collapses into a remarkably slim profile (approx. 15 cm), allowing it to be stored easily in narrow gaps or behind doors.
Aesthetic: The contrast between the warm, teak-toned laminated trays and the industrial black-lacquered steel frame is a hallmark of late 70s modernism.
Ergonomics: Includes the original integrated black handle and smooth-gliding industrial casters, designed for effortless 360-degree mobility.
