Material: Hard Dark Stone ( Serpentinite or Steatite) Dimensions: Height: 18.3 mm (excluding modern custom base) Description: A finely carved ancient Egyptian hard stone amulet representing the "Double Feather" (shut / šwty). The amulet features a distinct, deep vertical central groove, clearly dividing the piece to represent two ostrich or falcon feathers placed side-by-side. The reverse features a perfectly intact, original suspension loop carved directly from the matrix. Amulets of this specific typology became popular starting from the 26th Dynasty and were almost exclusively carved from dark, hard stones. The double feather was a prominent divine headdress associated with major deities such as Amun and Min. In funerary contexts, as a magical talisman placed on the mummy, the feathers symbolized the flight of the soul to the afterlife and the deceased's moral ascent. Condition: Excellent ancient condition. Intact, with sharp carving details, a smooth ancient polish, and no modern restorations. Mounted on a custom display base.
