Arita Hizen Ware - Unknown Artisan - Kochtopf (6) - Banchaki (Ban-cha-Teeset) - Porzellan - Rote Emaille (Aka-e) Teeset

"-------------------- [Item Overview] This is a beautiful vintage Japanese tea set (Banchaki-soroe) of Arita Hizen ware, consisting of one Kyusu (teapot) and five Chawan (tea cups). Featuring the classic "Aka-e" (red enamel) style, this set represents the elegance of traditional Japanese hospitality. [Artistic Significance: Arita-yaki & Aka-e] Arita ware, also known as Hizen ware, has a 400-year history and was the first porcelain produced in Japan. The "Aka-e" technique involves exquisite overglaze painting in vibrant red, often accented with gold or blue. This style became world-famous during the Edo period when it was exported to Europe through the Dutch East India Company (VOC). The intricate patterns on this set showcase the delicate brushwork and aesthetic sensibilities of the Showa-era artisans. [Provenance & Condition] - Origin: Hand-selected from a private family collection. - Status: Unused vintage item. Opened only for inspection and photography. - Condition: The ceramics are in excellent condition with no visible chips or cracks. The original "Tomobako" (wooden box) is included, which shows some signs of age, including tape residue and minor shelf wear, consistent with long-term storage.
