Hervorragende HED-unklassifizierte Schmelzkruste, glänzend schwarz - 516 g - (1)
Description :
I am pleased to offer this complete and oriented HED meteorite, likely an eucrite, displaying a beautiful glossy black fusion crust on one face.
This specimen represents a remarkable example of an achondritic meteorite belonging to the HED group (howardites, eucrites, and diogenites), believed to originate from asteroid Vesta. Its oriented shape reflects its stable flight through the atmosphere, while the preserved, lustrous fusion crust testifies to the intense heat generated during atmospheric entry.
The interior matrix is light-colored and finely speckled with dark minerals, clearly visible in the photographs. Notably, the specimen is non-magnetic, consistent with its achondritic nature.
A genuine and visually striking HED meteorite, ideal for collectors seeking material linked to one of the largest differentiated bodies in the asteroid belt.
