Seltenes Set aus 4 chinesischen frühen Bencharong-„Lai Nam Thong“-Schalen Ø7-9 cm SIAM / THAI-Markt. - Porzellan, Emaille, Vergoldet - China - Qing Dynastie (1644-1911)

RARE SET OF 4 CHINESE EARLY BENCHARONG "LAI NAM THONG" BOWLS Ø7-9CM SIAM / THAI MARKET. 4 early Bencharong bowls enameled in Bencharong / Benjarong i.e. "Five Colors" palette with "Lai Nam Thong" (Gold-Wash) gilt ground produced in China at beginning 19th century, possibly late 18th c. Bencharong "Lai Nam Thong" porcelain pieces were produced in China from the late 18th century exclusively for the courts of Siam but also sometimes for the ones of Cambodia and Laos. Lai Nam Thong porcelains such as these 4 bowls were made of a much finer material than standard Bencharong ones and distinguished by the use of gilding in their background. They were reserved for royal families and the high aristocracy only. They are rare, delicately potted with thin porcelain shapes depicting finely hand-painted floral & bird designs with still bright gilt & enamels for a unique & very decorative antique set. These 4 antique and early bencharong porcelains were part of a Gérard Groussin collection, expert in Bencharong porcelains. They have all been published inside thhis reference book called "la porcelaine sino-thaïe Bencharong et Lai Nam Thong". The 2nd bowl from the left has also been published on the front cover. Information Art/country: Asian Art, China. Type: Bencharong bowls Period: Late 18th or early 19th c. Diameters: 7 to 9 cm / 2.75 to 3.5". Heights: 4 to 6 cm / 1.55 to 2.35". Total weight: 0.31 Kg. Important notice: Please note that the photos we take are the closest possible to reality in terms of colours & tones.
