Henk Vos (1939–2020) was an influential Dutch interior architect and furniture designer. He studied interior architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam and became known for his refined and functional designs for leading Dutch furniture brands such as Gelderland, Linteloo and Beek. His work is characterized by a minimalist aesthetic, high-quality materials and timeless proportions. His well-known design philosophy was: “Better empty than ugly.” The Maupertuus side table perfectly reflects this philosophy. The thick transparent glass top appears to float above the elegant three-legged base, giving the table a light and architectural presence.
