Montegrappa - Eternal Bird limited edition fountain pen - Füllfederhalter

Montegrappa Eternal Bird Limited Edition !Please read carefully!: this pen is used and nib needs to be serviced. The box is not from this set. The box is damaged and belongs to the DRAGON limited edition pen Further description: The Montegrappa Eternal Bird was created by the same artist who created the famous Montegrappa Dragon years ago. In Chinese mythology the dragon is usually paired off with the phoenix, also know as the “eternal bird”. This hints to a companionship of these creations. The Eternal Bird is inspired by a 12th century painting which depicts the phoenix with a female figure. The phoenix, in Chinese mythology, was a mythological bird that reigned over all other birds. The Male’s were called Feng and the Females were called Huang. However, in modern times that line has been blurred to create one feminine entity. The reason for this was so that the phoenix could be paired with the dragon, which has male connotations. The phoenix sometimes takes the place of the rooster in the Chinese zodiac. It is a symbol of positive connotations such as high virtue and grace. In both ancient and modern times ornaments of the phoenix and dragon are seen in weddings and royal events, as they are a symbol of a blissful relationship. The barrel and cap of this magnificent creation is made of a brilliant red celluloid. The miniature sculptures that decorate the pen are created through a sophisticated die-casting technique with sterling silver. The pen is hand-finished by master jewelers. The eyes of the beautiful Eternal Bird are made of natural stunning rubies. The pairing of the Eternal bird with its companion Dragon is underlined in numerous analogies: style and dimension of the pen, the same artist’s hand, the same packaging, a precious inkwell in a very limited edition. The Montegrappa Eternal Bird Silver Fountain Pen features die-casting sculpture applied to the pen barrel and cap made of bright red celluloid. Red has a symbolic significance of the phoenix and of its very name. (Phoenix derives from the Greek word meaning ‘red’). THE EYES OF THE BIRD The red motif is repeated in the eyes of the bird which are represented by two brilliant-cut rubies. Limited to 1912 pieces world-wide
