AMIΣOY Panther skin and thyrsos on cista mystica; to left, monogram. HGC 7, 243. SNG BM Black Sea 1209. Rough surface. Nice portrait.
Orichalcum was a valuable golden-colored brass alloy (copper and zinc) used by Romans an Greeks to mint coins . Valued for its gold-like appearance, it was considered more valuable than copper.
