Jugendstil Buntglasfenster - 1910-1920 - 81x118cm/ 11 Kg

An impressive and authentic Art Nouveau / Jugendstil stained glass window, dating from around 1910. This large architectural panel originates from the entrance hall of a hotel built in the early 20th century, which has since been demolished. As such, this large window represents a rare surviving element of historic hotel architecture from this period. The design displays the elegant visual language typical of the late Art Nouveau and early Jugendstil movement, where flowing organic lines are combined with increasingly geometric compositions that would later influence the Art Deco style. The panel features a harmonious arrangement of hand-cut textured glass panels in warm amber, yellow and green tones, complemented by subtle purple accents that enhance the decorative rhythm of the design. When illuminated by natural or artificial light, the textured glass produces a warm and atmospheric glow, highlighting the depth and richness of the colours. The window is constructed using traditional leaded glazing techniques, where individual glass elements are joined with lead cames. Due to the substantial size of the panel, two vertical iron reinforcement bars are integrated into the structure, a typical construction method used in larger architectural stained glass windows to ensure long-term stability. The panel remains mounted in its original wooden frame, which shows authentic age and patina consistent with its architectural origin and adds to the historical character of the piece. Architectural Salvage & Collector Interest Authentic architectural stained glass panels from demolished historic buildings have become increasingly sought after by collectors, interior designers, and restorers. Because many early 20th-century buildings have disappeared over the decades, surviving original elements such as stained glass windows are becoming progressively rarer. Dimensions 88 x 118 x 5 cm (h x w x d) Weight Approx. 11 kg Condition In good and complete pre-loved condition. Due to its age and the nature of traditional leaded glass construction, the panel has developed a slight natural bowing/curvature, which is typical for architectural stained glass of this period and does not affect its structural integrity. The window retains its original wooden frame with normal signs of age and wear consistent with architectural salvage. The overall presentation remains very attractive and structurally sound. A beautiful and decorative early 20th-century architectural stained glass window that will make a striking addition to any interior or collection. Free shipping. No costs!!! • Will be professionally packaged with protective glazing support • Next-day dispatch, registered, insured, and tracked • Catawiki-compliant shipping label system assumed • From a private curated collection of architectural glassworks • A true eye-catcher in your home or design studio
