Proustit, Pyrargyrit und Natürliches Silber aus Freiberg, Sachsen, Deutschland Exemplar - Höhe: 3.1 cm - Breite: 2.5 cm- 7 g
An attractive silver specimen featuring a natural association of proustite, pyrargyrite and native silver from the historic mining district of Freiberg, Saxony, Germany. The specimen displays complex metallic silver aggregates intertwined with dark grey to steel-colored mineralization typical of rich hydrothermal silver deposits from this famous European locality.
The piece shows sculptural formations of native silver with a natural metallic luster, partially covered by a fine mineral matrix. Associated sulfosalts proustite and pyrargyrite, often referred to as “ruby silvers,” are classic minerals from the Freiberg district and are historically important silver ores. Although their deep red color may appear subdued when embedded in matrix, they are well known among collectors as characteristic minerals of this locality.
