Made using traditional materials including iron plates, silk cords, leather, and textile, they are authentic armor components and can be worn. The iron plates are laced with dark blue cord and attached to padded textile backing for comfort and flexibility. The upper padded sections are covered with fabric decorated with a pine tree motif. In Japanese symbolism, pine represents longevity, endurance, and steadfast strength, as it remains green even during winter. For this reason, pine is considered an auspicious motif associated with resilience and protection. Such shin guards were designed to protect the lower legs while allowing mobility in combat. Today they are appreciated both as functional armor pieces and as striking display elements in samurai armor collections. Condition: Good to very good vintage condition with light scuffs, minor dust, and signs of age and use. Please refer to the photos for details. Dimensions When unfolded: approx. 【Product details】
