Sehr feines Sumi-e-Diptychon „Drei Freunde des Winters“, signiert - Papier - Zuiko Chingyu (1743-1822) - Japan - Edo-Zeit
Zuiko Chingyu (1743-1822), a Soto zen monk from the mid- to late Edo period, was born on January 6, 1743 in Higo. Entered the priesthood at Touko-ji Temple in Higo (Kumamoto Prefecture). He succeeded Kairyoten of Shozan-ji Temple in Nagato (Yamaguchi Prefecture). He served as abbot of Touko-ji Temple and Ryutai-ji Temple in Mino (Gifu Prefecture), before succeeding to Bansho-ji Temple in Owari (Aichi Prefecture). He died April 10, 1822, at the age of 80. He was born in Higo. His secular surname was Sato. His work includes "Illustrated Illustrated Guide to the Life of Zen Master Eihei Dogen."
