Mithridates II (oder Mithradates II), König der Parther von 124 bis 88 v. Chr., gilt als einer der größten Herrscher des arsakidischen Reiches. Er festigte das Königreich nach einer Zeit der Unruhen, vertrieb die Skythen und erweiterte seine Autorität von Mesopotamien bis in den östlichen Iran. Unter seiner Herrschaft etablierten sich die Parther als Großmacht und knüpften die ersten diplomatischen Kontakte mit Rom und China.

Mithridates II (or Mithradates II), king of Parthia from 124 to 88 BC, is considered one of the greatest rulers of the Arsacid Empire. He consolidated the kingdom after a period of turmoil, repelled the Scythians, and extended his authority from Mesopotamia to eastern Iran. Under his reign, the Parthians established themselves as a major power and forged the first diplomatic contacts with Rome and China.
