A charming hanging scroll 掛軸 (kakejiku) depicting three plump puppies gathered at the edge of a bamboo grove 竹 (take), beside a flowering camellia 椿 (tsubaki) with bright red blossoms. Two pups sit closely together, their round faces turned toward the viewer, while a darker puppy stands playfully in the foreground. Executed in colour and ink on silk, and signed and sealed in the lower right corner. Mounted on a soft green brocade silk with white lacquered jikusaki.
