Art Deco Buntglasfenster - 1920-1930 - Maritimes graviertes Panel

Art Deco stained glass window with engraved sailing ship – Netherlands, ca. 1925–1935 The panel features a striking geometric Art Deco composition with warm amber, ruby red and purple glass elements surrounding a central etched glass panel depicting a sailing ship at sea. The ship is finely engraved into textured glass, creating a subtle maritime scene with waves and birds. This maritime motif gives the window a distinctive character and reflects the long maritime tradition of the Netherlands. The surrounding design shows strong Art Deco geometry, typical of the interwar period and closely related to the architectural style of the Amsterdam School. When sunlight shines through the glass, the amber and red tones produce a warm and atmospheric glow, making the panel particularly decorative when placed in a window or illuminated frame. The panel is handmade using traditional lead cames and soldered joints, a classic stained-glass technique used in early 20th century architectural decoration. The piece was acquired in Driehuis (The Netherlands), an area known for houses built during the interwar period where stained glass windows were often installed in entrance halls, staircases and bay windows. Today such pieces are highly appreciated as architectural salvage and decorative interior elements. 113 cm x 69 cm Good original condition. The glass is largely intact. Two small cracks is visible in a red glass piece & a small yello one (see detailed photos). The lead framework is original and slightly flexible due to age, which is typical for stained glass of this period. No restoration has been carried out. The panel will be professionally packed between protective boards with shock-absorbing materials to ensure safe transport.
