It is a collector's item from the 1950s. The hippopotamus measures approximately 30 cm in length, with a stocky body and short legs. It has thick gray-brown mohair on its head, body, and legs. It has a pronounced muzzle with large, black glass eyes. Its wide-open felt mouth is open. It has small felt ears; a thin, rope or fabric tail. It has a Steiff button and tag on the left ear (visible in the photos). Simple craftsmanship, not jointed, with slight natural wear that adds to its vintage charm.
