The Sauternes cuvées from Château d’Yquem are always a blend of wines from multiple vintages. In their youth, they reveal aromas of fresh fruit, with a strong citrus presence, combined with candied notes characteristic of botrytis-affected wines. The palate confirms this combination of freshness and rich, dense texture of great purity. As these cuvées age, aromas of plum and orange marmalade develop, while the freshness is preserved thanks to a lovely bitter citrus note that balances the sweetness. The older these cuvées become, the more intense these characteristics of candied, spicy, and citrusy notes become, much to the delight of our palate. Château d’Yquem’s Sauternes 5 is a blend of three vintages from 2014 to 2016, bottled in 2019. These bottles were stored save in a wine fridge. The bottles will be shipped via DHL and insured.
