Einzelblumenvase - Steinzeug - Japan - Vase- und Teller-Set (Ohne mindestpreis)

Item Description This set consists of a Bizen ware ikebana vase and a matching Bizen ware plate, both bearing the artist's impressed seal on the underside. The set comes housed in its original tomobako (共箱, wooden presentation box), the lid inscribed with "備前・花器" (Bizen Flower Vessel) and signed by the artist. Bizen ware (備前焼, Bizen-yaki) originates from the Imbe area of Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, and is one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns with a tradition stretching back over a thousand years. Bizen ware is fired without any glaze; the rich warm tones and surface markings are produced entirely through the interaction of iron-rich clay, wood ash, and fire during the anagama kiln firing process. The compact, round-bellied vase with its narrow flared neck displays a gradation of warm ochre to reddish-brown, characteristic of the hi-iro (fire-color) effect. The plate features freely applied iron-slip markings in a spontaneous style that harmonizes with the vase. Both pieces are unglazed, allowing the natural porosity of Bizen clay to keep water fresh — a quality long valued for ikebana flower arrangement. This set is ideal for displaying a single flower or branch. Dimensions: Ikebana vase: H 4.5 cm, W 5 cm Plate / Saucer: Diameter 13 cm, H 1.4 cm Comes with the artist's signed and sealed tomobako wooden storage box. Size Height: 5 cm Width: 13 cm Weight 429 g (set, both pieces) Condition Both pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs; natural kiln marks and surface variation are inherent characteristics of wood-fired Bizen ware. Artist Profile The artist's signature and seal appear on the tomobako lid, and the artist's impressed seal is found on the underside of both pieces; however, specific biographical details have not been confirmed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shipping & Important Notice [Shipping] Your item will be carefully packaged and shipped from Japan via Japan Post, DHL, or FedEx with a tracking number.
