These pieces originate from the historic glass-making region of Jablonec, Bohemia (formerly Czechoslovakia), the world's premier center for luxury glass buttons during the Late 19th to Mid 20th century. These are exquisite "Reverse Painted" buttons. The intricate "Sunburst" or "Radial Swirl" pattern was pressed into the glass, and the coloration was applied to the reverse side using a specialized Cold Enamel (Lacquer) technique. The translucent glass acts as a magnifying lens, creating a striking 3D effect. The light reflects through the glass to reveal the dual-tone enamel beneath.
