This item may date from the Meiji era to the early Showa era. This stand is a masterpiece, lavishly crafted with gorgeous mother-of-pearl. Fine mother-of-pearl detailing is applied even to the vertical lines. Mother-of-pearl reflects light brilliantly, making it ideal for beautifully displaying swords. Condition: There are cracks in the lacquer at the vertical and horizontal seams. This does not affect the wood, but only the surface of the lacquer. This does not affect use or viewing.
