Set aus 4 kreativen Kokeshi-Puppen – Torao Hosaka (Preisträger), Ryoichi und Andere - Holz - Japan - Shōwa Zeit (1926-1989)

Item Description: This is a curated collection of four unique "Sosaku" (Creative) Kokeshi dolls, each showcasing distinct artistic styles and themes. 1. "Sazanami" (Ripple / さざ波) by Ryoichi: A sleek, modern piece created as a memento for an Inter-High School Skiing Championship. It features a minimalist aesthetic with a natural wood finish. 2. "Red Kimono" by Tomiko: A vibrant doll with a deep red body adorned with delicate floral carvings and a traditional "Okappa" hairstyle. 3. "Traveling Figurine" by Torao Hosaka: A masterful work depicting a traveler wearing a "Tabigasa" (traditional sedge hat) and holding a staff. This was a souvenir from Shuzenji Onsen. 4. "Artistic Silhouette" (Anonymous): A sophisticated piece featuring a slender body and expressive, weathered brushwork on the eyes and hair, giving it a remarkably human-like expression despite its simple form. Artist: - Torao Hosaka (保坂 虎男): A celebrated Kokeshi artisan and prize winner at the prestigious All Japan Kokeshi Competition. He is known for incorporating storytelling and traditional Japanese themes into his woodwork. - Ryoichi (亮一): An artist known for clean lines and commemorative works. - Tomiko (とみ子): A female artisan specializing in elegant, feminine designs. - The anonymous piece demonstrates high-level craftsmanship, particularly in the "Kasuri" (blurred) painting technique used for the facial features. Size & Weight: 1. 24 × 4.5 × 5 cm (123 g) 2. 23.5 × 6 × 6 cm (230.5 g) 3. 24 × 6 × 6 cm (166 g) 4. 24 × 4 × 5 cm (145 g) Keyword for search: Hand-painted / Hand-carved / Showa Retro / Japanese Folklore / Woodwork / Folk Art / Mid-century / Interior Decor / Tohoku Style / Collectible Good condition.
