I am offering up a very special piece of audio history: the Sony TA-4650. This is the famous V-FET amplifier known for having a warm, musical sound that many people compare to high-end tube amps. It’s a heavy, well-built machine from Sony’s "Golden Era." Performance & Testing: I have tested this unit thoroughly. Both channels are clear and balanced, and it still delivers that powerful, smooth V-FET punch. All the switches (Bass/Treble turnovers, Filters, and Loudness) and the volume/balance knobs operate properly. The "Preset Volume" ring on the main dial works as intended—a really cool feature you don't see anymore. Condition: The brushed aluminum faceplate is quite clean for its age, though there is some light patina on the knobs. Please note: The top metal cover has significant scratches and surface wear (please see the bird's-eye view photo). I kept it original, but a quick respray would make this unit look brand new.
