Beautiful Japanese wooden sculptured Noh mask - Magojiro孫次郎, finely carved with pretty face. made by Motoyoshi元義 and his name was signed on the backside. It is said to be the work of Ukyo Hisatsugu (died 1564 at the age of 28), who later changed his name to Sonjiro, and therefore the mask was named after the artist. It is also said to be a mask he made in memory of his wife who had passed away earlier, and is therefore also known as "Omokage" (Remembrance). It is slightly older than the Ko-omote mask.
