Aizu-nuri Ryūmon Vase — Japanische Marmorlackware-Blumenvase - Keramik - Japan - 20. Jahrhundert

Description: A stunning decorative vase crafted in the Aizu-nuri (会津塗) lacquerware tradition of Fukushima Prefecture, one of Japan's foremost lacquerware production regions with a history spanning over 400 years. The surface is adorned with the captivating Ryūmon (流紋) technique — a sophisticated marbling method in which multiple layers of lacquer are applied and swirled to create fluid, flowing patterns that are entirely unique to each piece. This particular vase is especially striking for its warm, fiery colour palette — dominated by vivid burnt orange and amber tones that glow against a deep dark brown and black ground, creating an almost volcanic, hypnotic energy across the entire surface. The interplay of orange, red-orange, and golden amber lines swirling in elegant curves gives the piece an exceptional visual warmth that is rarely seen in lacquerware of this type. No two Ryūmon pieces are ever identical, making this vase a truly one-of-a-kind work of decorative art. The globular body tapers gracefully to a compact rolled rim, and the deep gloss of the lacquer finish gives the surface an almost liquid quality. The interior is finished in smooth black lacquer. Condition: Excellent condition, no chips, cracks, or repairs (美品) Height: 11.0 cm Maximum body diameter: 9.4 cm Base diameter: 5.6 cm Rim diameter (outer): 5.6 cm Rim diameter (inner): 4.3 cm Weight: 250 g Material: Ceramic with Aizu urushi lacquer (Ryūmon marbling technique) Origin: Aizu, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan Box: Not included NOITICE: The photos may show flowers, plants, pedestals, etc. as examples of decorations and interior design for illustrative purposes, but please note that these are not included in the product.
