A Japanese four-panel folding screen, printed on paper, depicting the Usuzumizakura, the famous and majestic cherry tree of Gifu Prefecture.
This classic subject of Japanese art celebrates the fleeting beauty of nature, with delicate sakura blossoms evoking the arrival of spring and inviting reflection on the transience of life.
The frame, in lacquered wood, is finished with metal fittings.
Signed lower left Itô Kakô.
Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings.
--- The byobu is in very good condition. There are some signs of wear and oxidation to the metal fittings. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
