Vase - Bronze, Legierung - Japan - Takaoka Bronze Kenjun 兼筍 (Ohne mindestpreis)

Artist: Kenjun (兼筍) Material: Cast bronze with patinated finish Origin: Japan – Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture Period: Mid–20th century Condition: Good vintage condition. Minor age-related surface wear and slight patina variations may be present. No cracks, repairs, or structural damage observed. The artist’s signature “兼筍” is stamped on the underside of the base. All accompanying items are limited to what is shown in the photographs. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ This bronze vase was created by Kenshun (兼筍), a craftsman associated with the long-standing tradition of Takaoka metalwork in Toyama Prefecture. The surface displays a rich and deeply layered blue-green patina, interwoven with characteristic copper-toned marbling. This interplay of turquoise, bronze, and warm copper hues is particularly emblematic of high-quality Takaoka copperware, achieved through carefully controlled traditional finishing techniques. The coloration shifts subtly under changing light, giving the piece a dynamic and refined presence. The silhouette is especially distinctive. From the rounded body, the form rises dramatically into a flaring, trumpet-shaped mouth. This dynamic expansion creates a bold vertical movement, allowing the vase to command attention even when holding large floral arrangements. The shape conveys both strength and elegance. In contrast to the expressive body, the sculptural side handles (“ears”) are formed as simple circular rings. Their restrained geometry provides a thoughtful counterbalance to the dramatic contour of the vase. This subtle design harmony reflects the craftsmanship and aesthetic sensibility characteristic of Takaoka artisans, where decorative restraint enhances structural beauty. The underside bears the stamped signature “兼筍,” confirming the maker. ────────── Dimensions: Height: approx. 21 cm Body diameter: approx. 13 cm Weight: approx. 1.0 kg ────────── Shipping • Carefully packed and shipped with tracking. • International shipping via Yamato Transport or Japan Post. • Import duties, taxes, VAT and any other charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost.
